Electric Cars are only as clean as the power used to keep them moving.
The first electric vehicle was created back in 1832, very much ahead of its time, a lot like Ecoffins. We have always strived to be ahead being the first to introduce our innovative eco-friendly coffins to the funeral profession.
So back on the summer of 2021 we added to our fleet with an electric company van. This is perfect for delivering coffins to our local customers if and when required, with no added harm to the environment, reducing our carbon footprint even more.
However, an electric vehicle is only as clean as the power it uses to keep them moving. This is why our electric power points, that are used to charge our vehicles, are powered by our very own solar panels on top of our office building.
Research has shown electric vehicles are better for the environment, they emit fewer greenhouse gasses and air pollutants than petrol or diesel cars. This also takes into account their production and electricity generation to keep them running. Not only this, the maintenance and repair of an electric vehicle is a lot simpler than one powered by petrol or diesel as there is fewer moving parts and not gears therefore the scope for things to break or go wrong is far less.
With all this in mind and the ever rising fuel costs looming our idea of going electric came at a perfect time for us.
Ecoffins are always looking at ways to cut our carbon footprint in our day to day work while always delivering a high standard of Eco Friendly coffins.
